King Harbor 1/19

My first report!!!! Anyways, I've been on here for I really don't know how long reading all ur threads about kayak fishing- and after a few Fred Hall shows and visits to OEX and the Bass Pro Shops, I purchased a Malibu Stealth 12 because I have always wanted one. Anyways, I finally got out on the water with it today and went to Redondo Beach and launched outta King Harbor. Kind of nervous at first but after getting my bearings in I was paddling around exploring and understanding how to operate this new kayak. In the bay I hooked a bonito but as I was bringing him to the boat I didn't have the rod in a good position and he jerked and snapped my line- but my novice adrenaline was already thru the roof and I rerigged again and hurried to cast out with no luck on another bonito bite. But I did catch a few bass, all released, and all at random moments. But the highlight of my day was taking my daughter and son on the water with me to share in the beauty and the peace of a world they only understood watching me drool over pictures you guys post here on BWE. Tight lines guys. I appreciate all of you for keeping me hooked and I look forward to meeting you guys on the water. God Bless. Johnny

Welcome to the party! It is a great sport to share with your kiddos. I enjoy it as well. See you on the water

There are Bonito in the Harbor right now?

Great Dad Work!
I still have a few years before I can take mine out, he still has new-baby-smell...

His mom would not appreciate me bringing him back smelling like salt water and fish guts.

Great post. Any time spent on the water is a great learning experience and even better, a re-charge on your batteries that will help you with the work week rat race. If that's you're fishing license on the deck be careful that blue paper will turn black if it gets to much sun light (UV rays) Tight lines. Mark

Mission accomplished, think the kids faces tell the story pretty well.
