Neat, might be ok, but it is pricey. Just think maybe 5 hours on a 64mb card and the card is full before the battery dies, WOW!!!!!

Cool find! It peaked my interest enough that I ordered one. I hate the battery life on my GoPro, with this I'll be able to just hook this into my FF battery. I'll let you know how it works out.

Wasabi GoPro Batteries

These have a longer charge and come with 2 batteries. I just store these and an extra 32GB memory card($24) in a dry box and change them out when I need to. Lasts me 6 hours on the water. More than enough footage!

I tried those and the longest run time I could get was about 90 minutes.

I have three batteries for my GP and run a 32gb memory card, my card usually fills up with video before I can use up two full batteries, no need for me to drill holes in my case and spend more money. Overall, its a cool idea but It's cheaper to just get the wasabi package.

I can think of other uses not related to fishing, like home surveillance for a fraction of the price. Converting 120v AC wall power to 12v DC is trivial and having the GoPRO record directly to a a SSD has been around for ages.

If you get one. Please. Send me some detailed photos and I'll see if I can use my lab to reverse engineer something similar for a fraction of the cost.

It looks like it's nothing more than a PCM circuit converting 9v-30v down to 3.7v for the GoPro. I'm sure it can be built for a lot less than they are selling it for.

I would like to hear your impressions as well as if someone comes up with a cheaper alternative.

Not yet, I was told there was a week lead time plus shipping when I ordered. I should get it next week, I'll do a preliminary review when it arrives.
