You will not find a halibut that does NOT have those worms in it, even the halibut that I caught at San Clemente island had worms. Most of those worms are in the meat that is near the stomach, just cut them out and you're good.

or if you are too lazy to hunt n peck em out just get the temperature up to 140 degrees F and it will kill them all. or freeze it fr a few days before eating the fish either way works

I'm still go to start hitting the ocean for Halibut. I was just watching Greg Andrew #45 Halibut video. It looks like a lot more fun pulling the up from deeper water.

i pulled up a 30# from 120' 15lb test on a bass rod. felt just like i was pulling up the bathroom rug. boring as hell to me until it got 5 feet from the boat it blew up then right on the gaff that one was the biggest halibut ive caught and didnt have much fight to it in my opinion. thought it was a bat ray that didnt know it was hooked for a few minutes while bringing it up initially.... bass are my thing if halibut are yours by all means go get em!

Much more common than most people think. I bet you found them nearer to its belly. I usually cut out its gills and pull its belly out once I catch it. Stops the worms from migrating xfrom its stomach to the meat.

They probably did come from the stomach area. I didn't notice when I fileted and divided into meal for two portions. When I thawed a bag out a few night later is when I discovered them. That bag very well could have been the stomach area.
