I comend you pacience and congratulations. Bones on the fly if an achievment any where but here in so cal you might be the first. I've caught em on plastics and bait be don't think I could wait 5 years. Have you caught bonefish befor? That first 5 seconds after hookset is like nothing else we have around here. You rock. Mike

The last time I heard my drag on my 8w reel was 3 year @ Catalina wt a big bonito it feels good when it happends

Yeah it does. I would have thought he still would have given you some good runs. I got some big stripers out in Maine last summer on a 9wt, short runs, but got the blood flowing none the less. Hard to beat game fish on the fly.

I have never really targeted bones, but as a kid they were one of the fish I always dreamed of.
