LJ 6th or 7th?

I want to hit LJ 6th or 7th was hoping to have some company. It will be my first time out there fishing. I've kayaked there before, but not fished. Maybe someone could show me where the bait is and MLPA boundaries are. If nobody bites, I'll hit SD bay. Looking to go early morning and be off the water by 1 or 2 pm.

Watch/talk people on the water and put your time in. Bout 100 yards past the yellow buoy you will be mlpa free and tons of bait around

6th or 7th? You'll definitly find someone launching out with you. Last time you kayaked out there maybe you noticed the yellow pole shaped buoys? They span from the caves and boxes itself towards Scripps Pier. That is your reference for the preserve line.... Get out past those towards the kelp and you'll be able to make plenty of bait on a sabiki. Fin bait that is. There is plenty of kelp to work the artificials as well. Good luck, I might see you out there!

Awesome! Yeah, boaters are a pain, but being in the military, I take the days I have off and make the best of them. Probably going to be headed out Sunday morning. Might miss the church guys and the guys that might be partied out by then.

The reserve actually extends far past the reserve markers, unless they moved them recently. If you fish just outside the yellow reserve markers your in the mpa.

How do you know where the reserve ends? Your electronics, gps.
