Sounds TOO cheap to be quality bait squid. I would imagine its not very fresh

Frozen squid from the market are probably frozen same day. I've been using those for years and they seem pretty fresh for frozen squid. You can find them at just about any large Asian market.

For you North County people, Phil-Asian Market off of Bent and San Marcos Blvd has 5lb blocks for $8. The squid is top quality and she gets deliveries every 2 weeks. Always keep a block in the freezer for those last minute trips.

The lady is really cool. I send my friends there for squid and everyone has given me positive feedback about the bait. It's always good to keep at least a box in the freezer
