Idk if you're allowed to launch off of it or not but I've seen kayakers launch off of the dock by the life gaurd station

The bait receiver is located in Quivira Basin. If you look up Mission Bay on google maps you will be able to check it out along with places you can launch from. I am not sure if you are allowed to launch from the lifeguard area or not but I do know you can launch from Dana Landing, which isn't a very far paddle to the bait barge. I personally like launching from Ventura Cove behind the Bahia Hotel.

You can launch from the park that is just across the channel. You go to Mission Beach and hang a left till you run into the Jetty and then another left into the parking lot. I think the hours are from 4am till 10pm.

Parking at Dana Landing and at the parks throughout Mission Bay are free. The channel usually doesn't get very busy.

Sweet on the free parking and good news on the paddle across the channel. I've been wanting to give it a try down there. Any tips for a rookie or thing I need to know when I'm down there? Thanks for all the info guys.

Dana landing is close but i believe mariners point is closer, it's directly across from the life guard station/ channel

I'm gonna hit the bay on Sunday. Probably launch from Mariners Point and shoot across to get some bait. Any advice for halibut hunting? I've never fished Mission Bay.

I will probably be hitting out there saturday. I park at the lot next to the bahia hotel. Launching is super easy, but it's a mile paddle to the bait barge.
Best advice for halibut is to put a live fin bait on the bottom and drag it with the tide (not the wind, sometimes there's a difference. it took me a couple trips and an epiphany to realize this). As for a spot, they can be anywhere it is sandy. Cover ground and keep your fingers crossed.

Could anyone tell what time the bait receiver opens and what they charge?
