Guess who went fishing today
ME! lol Cabrillo 02/04/2013 woke up at 4:30 but left the house at 6:30. OTW at 8. l made a bounce ball rig and bounced all th way to the bait barge. I did a lap around and the rod starts bouncing and i reel in a short hali about 14" , no pic cause my camera was tied to the yak and i didnt want to damage the fish so let him go. Bought bait, nice big dines and the worker gave me probably 35 pieces. Got a dine on my other rod which had a 1lb cannonball and hooks for live bait. Started bouncing and after about an hour the rod with the dine gets slammed. I bring him up and i can see him on my ff screen, thats so cool when it happens!, Its a nice hali and Isee hes barely hooked and i dont have a gaff or net. I thought for a moment and grabbed the line with my hand and pull him in. He gave a headshake and popped off . I worked that area a little more but nothing. Time to head home so i start bouncing again and make another stop at the bait barge and i think i beat gregs pb with this this thing was huge! I thought about using him for bait but threw him back. Bounced back to the launch for nothing and came home. 59.7-60.3 water temp, 40-55 feet deep, 1.4-1.9 mph, go get em. The duct seal transducer works great btw.
