Shelter Island Launch Ramp Launch Ramps Tip! San Diego Launch Ramps are all tidal ramps, This means that the water level's fluctuate with the tides. What this means to you is that with a 2 wheel drive vehicle retrieving your vessel in low tide conditions may provide a challenge as this video demonstrates: If you do not have 4 Wheel Drive Consider purchasing a tow strap in case we are not around to help you! New! Video Of Shelter Island Launch Ramp.

Are you allowed to launch from any beach in SD? Considering it's not crowded. Notice almost all launches are from la Jolla shores

If you want to hit the big water, most guys launch from La Jolla Shores. Follow Avenida De La Playa all the way down, and you can launch there. Surf is usually calm, and if the sand is in good condition, you can drive your car right on to the beach.
Here link that will get you in the general area http://maps.google.com/maps?oe=utf-8...d=0CIUBEPwSMAQ Here is the link to the webcam at the launch http://www.bigwatersedge.com/index.p...lashoreswebcam |
