Agua Hedionda

First day out kayak fishing in my first kayak. Went all out and got the pa 12. Thanks Rik at Oceanside OEX. Peddled out at Agua Hedionda in Carlsbad around 10 a.m. tide was dropping all day until 5p.m. Didn't catch a thing for the first 2 hours. I usually fish for LMB so whenever I'm in a pinch I always pull out the Senko. I know this is freshwater stuff but it is my go to bait so I slid a 6" baby bass senko texas rigged with 1/4oz bullet and on the second cast I got nailed! Fished this way the last four hours and managed to bring in 10 or so of these little buggers. At least three of them were pulling line out (8lb mono) and I was disappointed every time I got glimps, because the little guys fight like 6 pound LMB. Good day out though and can't wait to get into some bigger stuff.

Fun times right there. Try the Swimming Senko, I love it on a slip jig or a plain t-rig.

sounds like time well spent. that's all it takes a few hook-ups to get to hooked. Always in search of the next hook-set.

Hey dude, seen you on SD Fish for years, good to your spreading your wings a little and fishing in the saltwater. You are going to love that kayak at Barrett, though.
