First post, portable fish finder

Hello everyone,
My first post here. Just got a mini x and so excited. Have not gone out to water yet but going out on the 10/27 out of Newport. For now I'm just going out with basic set up. Got my seat, paddle & PFD. Next purchase will be leash then fish finder. However I am little hesitant to drill a hole for transducer yet. So what is a good portable fish finder around bay and maybe little further out?
Thank you for your help.

If you bought a Regular Fishfinder you can easily place your Transducer in your hull with out any drilling. I used marine goop and my FF works perfect other than Temp. There are a ton of ways to do it but the easiest is Marine Goop. I would reccomend staying away from the portable FF.

Yup, stay away from those portable, eventually you will put it away, and buy a real fish finder.

Go to "Share Your Innovations" thread, many ways to install transducer without drill hole.

Or get this: http://www.rammount.com/NewProducts/...9/Default.aspx

Lowrance X-4 will be nice if you don't want to spend too much money and if only fish the bay.
