adding to 9/11 report

yep, very fishy today. About 10 kayaks out, and zero PBs. Windy, and on the way in, the surf definitely picked up.

Glad to see the first ever yellow for the nice guy in the green kayak, who I rode out with, and already posted. Good job!

I had three sleigh rides....

#1. very early, with squid, got a wonderful; fight, and as Jim noted, I spent way too much time dealing with "other issues", like one-handed bringing in bait line, getting gaff, etc, etc..... and right at color, lost it. Ouch!

#2. lucky one.... as you can see.... 33 pounds, 47", and my best ever YT. I bested my 12-year old who has a 32 pounder. Today is sushi, BBQ, and tomorrow smokin' ... very happy!

#3. OMG...... an hour-long fight and pulled all over the place...... just to end up with what I figured, a BIG Black Sea Bass. Wow, too long a fight, and pulled way out of the action zone.

By the time I got back, all the catching was done. But a wonderful morning, with all YT over 25 pounds. Hot action, then it stopped. Not everyone caught a fish, but several did. Jim got his three.... I'm beat after cleaning everything, filleting, sealing, etc....

But one happy dude! Cheers all! Now taking a few days off!

Nice fish dude that fish is huge. I have a really nice on the water image of your fish.

Thanks for the squid and the tips, I begged my wife to let me go out again early on wed.

I think the way it work out came out better for you by missing that first fish. You may not have got this one because of dealing with the first one if landed.

Once again, congrats

oh yes, this fish had 26 squid in its belly! I put a bunch in the freezer for fresh-dead bait. My kids say I gotta reduce its weight now to be under my son's 32-pounder, but I say no.

It got a bit greedy going for #27!

Anyway, I guess squid is what they want.

And Chris, please send that photo and GOOD LUCK tomorrow!
