If he said it was a corvina and then mentioned it was not a WSB, he knows whats up. ie. he's not your normal pier rat who does not have a clue. That would have been reason enough for me to move along. Either way, thank you for paying attention. There are not enough DFG personnel to protect our waters.

I like the Idea in principle. I think we to verify they are poachers, then all bets are off.
On the fish I'd I have never caught a short fin corvina but I have caught several juvi wsb. I haven't seen a juvi wo the bars. I have heard that there is very similar fish that has the fangs inside and that is one of the only ways to know the difference. I have never heard of the zipper but don't doubt it is there. Anyone have a picture of this feature? |

No visible bars, no belly ridge and no dark spot at base of pecs = corvina.
