New to this forum!!!
Im new to this forum as well as kayak fishing ive been out on my kayak 3xs newport, DP and silverwood lake. My best luck was @ newport, well i wouldnt call it luck only landed little rockfish and mack. When i went to DP i took a buddy with me but,.....he got sea sick..lmao! so we went home early. looking for some one to go hit the water with. i have been on kayak fishing mafia but its always sooo dead. this forum seems to be a bit more active. so if anyone is going out any time soon that enjoys being out there for hours without getting sea sick let me know i really enjoy this sport and have a blast ....if i catch or not but, im really itching for that big catch and really want some pointers on whatever my sponge can absorb. thanks!!! |

Welcome to the forum. I'm a newbie as well. This forum is great. Hit me up if you want to fish sometime. I guess we'll both have to bring beer since we're noobs.

welcome!!! i fish newport quite regularly as well as long beach. always take your bonine/dramamine before going to ensure that you dont end your day early (even if its flat out there). longbeach breakwater (outside) is not bad for a kayak, and if you fish 40-50ft away from the outside wall, there are lots of big sculpin to be caught. its only 40-60ish ft so using a 2oz is more than enough.
fishing on top of the kelp with BH lures tipped with squid will also give you some nice calicos and LOTS of cabezon. remember the cabbies are 15" minimum length!
