What does leopard shark taste like? find out
within the first 30mins of catching each one of them, the crew and his zodiak picked both Sharks up and told me he needed to bleed them and gut them to preserve the freshness. I said sure. He asked me if I wanted them fillet i said no i want to show my kids the shark. He said are you sure its hard work to fillet this shark. I said im sure. Boy, i should of told them to please fillet them... Anyways my wife said, WHY DID I BRING SHARK HOME I HATE SHARK... I said let me try it... Anyways what they told me was true... the shark has urea and has to be bled and gutted immediately in order for the blood not to contaminate the meat. Bonus to the crew of Black pearl! It took A LONG TIME to fillet the shark at home; basically you need to cut the leather skin off and the red meat attached to the skin and just leave the white meat. Then according to bloody decks soak it in milk overnight in order to take the shark smell off ( or something to that matter) Anyways i soaked the fillets over night in milk. Tonight, i cooked them... I followed this reciepe... 2 Leopard Shark fillets or steaks 1/4 C butter 2 cloves garlic, pressed or minced juice from 1/2 lime 1/4 tsp. cayenne 1/4 tsp. cumin powder Melt butter in a small saucepan and add ingredients. Strain through a fine strainer to remove garlic pieces (they burn under the broiler). Brush on shark fillets or steaks and broil one side. Turn the fish over, brush with more mixture and broil the other side. Serve with something that has avocados in it and you'll think you died and went to heaven. Serves 2 Except for broiling them i BBQ them... I told my wife to make some taco sauce.. So she said ok... Lime, mayonnaise, cumin powder, and garlic powder.. this is what i came out with.. My wife at the first taco shark meat.... Then she ate a second shark taco...... Then she ate 2 more shark tacos.......... Then 1 more shark taco.... She said i don't know what it is.... The shark smell is very low but the shark is very juicy and good.... she said I can bring another shark as long as it taste this way... My wife rated 8 out of 10. SCORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Soaking in milk overnight is a must with some fish, leopard sharks being one of them. Personally I wouldn't eat leopards but I'm glad you enjoyed it.

I've eaten leopard shark, its actually quite good. It's like a six gill shark, bleed-gut-skin as quickly as possible. It is a mild meat very similar to thresher shark. I just rarely catch a legal keeper.

Lol you dont need to gut it right away. Bleeding sure. Soak it in a lemon brine solution for a few hours then fry it in butter with you favorite seasoning.
I wonder what Soupfin taste like.... Oh, and steaking it is better. Cook the whole steak and the skin will peel off after its cooked.
