i do a couple different salt bass tourneys and usually theres a pot luck afterwords. i would join in.
sdfishman thats one helluva BBQ. By the way there is a OEX tourney coming up . heres the details ""Kayak Fishing Addicts have partnered up with Oceanside Dive & Kayak to host the next KFA trail event, the launching point will be the Oceanside harbor boat ramp. The date of this tournament is Saturday July 14th. Here are the rules. Start time is 7:00 a.m. and ending at 1:00 p.m. Pay parking. ( Must launch and land at ramp ) Shot-gun start near mouth of harbor @ 7 sharp. 3 bass event, the usual Sand bass, Calico or Spotties. Pot luck/Awards ceremony following the end of the weigh in. DFG and Coast Guard rules apply. Bass must be 12" minimum and live when weighed. We just might have a weigh boat for this one. This is a peddle or paddle event only. All kayaks must have a working life preserver on board, and it would also be a good idea to have a marine radio or cell phone on board too. Buy in is $25, with a $5 side bet for big bass. Weigh in begins at boat ramp at noon, must be in line to weigh fish by 1:00. Artificial baits only, scents/Gulp O.K. Top 5 payout. Your points from this event will go towards your over all standing in each Pro/Amateur angler of the year category. Should be fun. Kayak Fishing Addicts/Team Tarpon Oceanside Dive & Kayak"" ''"" The first 50 to signup will get a Hobie Tote Bag with some Hobie stickers and a Hobie can coozie, some Oside Dive & Kayak stickers, and some Reebs plastics to use for the Tourney. Top 3 prizes: 1st: Hobie Livewell ,Hobie Buff, Reebs Lures Varitey Pack, and $50 Gift Certificate for Oceanside Dive & Kayak 2nd: Hobie Anchor Trolley Kit, Hobie Buff, Reebs Lures Varitey Pack, $25 Gift Certificate for Oceanside Dive & Kayak 3rd: 2x Horizontal Rod Holder, Hobie Buff, and Reebs Lures Varitey Pack For those who aren't familiar with fishing up here, I suggest you fish the MBA event on June 30th and use it as a prefishing event. Thanks again for everyone's support! Rik Osanai""""

If we do it in San Diego Bay or Mission Bay I can pull the rig. All we need is some oak wood.. Here's some samples.

I'll bring some BBQ Beans that I love to make. Trust me, they are very good. You gotta have some beans with the meat, right?

Yakfest I
Pretty good response fellow yakers. My first thought was Fiesta Island across from Sea World because of easy parking, easy launch. However there is no grass.Shelter Island sounds good too. What's your thoughts?
