very temped I don't know much about the garmin FF so how do I need to mount the transducer

It's pretty much the same transducer type found in all FF's. It really depends on your kayak and how you want it mounted. I had it mounted to a PVC tube so I could move it to my pontoon. There are some tutorials here, on the web and on youtube.
