Another slow day

Launched from the ramp at 6:45 and headed straight for the pipe. Got around the jetty and found the light breeze was not so much so. The onshores had kicked up the chop. Light drizzle also, but at least it wasn't cold. Water was super clean and cold.

I got out to the pipe and found the drifts to be real quick. Too quick. 1.5oz with a 4" bait just got me down to the bottom in a reasonable amount of time. This lasted about an hour and then the wind backed down. It was still choppy, but the drifts were much more reasonable. I could actually cast and work the pipe.

Like last week, the bite was really slow. 5 fish for 3hrs. All sand bass and all on the grind. Missed a few others, and that was it. Used 4" Flurrys all morning. Colors that got bit were the standards, Sea Food and Red Fish. Sometimes I wonder why I carry anything else. Like last week there was lots of fish on the meter. Wildlife was pretty sparce too; couple Sea Lions, couple birds and a whale. Hopefully the fish get over their funk soon.

Thanks for the report. We just need some consistent weather and they'll get it together.
