Newport Rockfish 4/15

late post, but i figured i might as well do it. launched off M street at 9am. saw GR6RR on shore due to sea sickness from rough conditions. didnt see J3FFro though. saw alot of other kayakers but none dared to go outside of harbor. oh well.

first 200yd outside of harbor was BAD. almost capsized twice. after passing the bell bouy, the conditions flattened out. cool. made it to the rockfish spot where my friend Matt was. later was joined by justin (Carbonbass). decent rockfishing. i had the biggest fish. paddled in at 2pm because current was pushing us off of the rockfish spot too quickly.

i thought this was a copper or brown rockfish.. but i could be wrong. any ID's on it? it was about 2.5lbs.

^ your on suspension! hahahaha How come your post count don't move though? Is it stuck on 1234 for a reason?

Way to go Vincent! After you left I tried inside the harbor for a little bit to at least get my line pulled on before I headed home. FAILED.

Glad you had some luck outside with the conditions clearing up a bit. Until the next time bro! BTW, what was that pill again that you had?

What depth where those caught in?

there is a shelf about a mile outside of the channel that I want to try out.
