I paddled out early that morning. Things seemed to be lining up just right. Once at the point I was quickly put into place with the offshore winds numbing my hands. Missed a fish (felt like a black). I wimped out and headed for more protected areas. As I finally reached the area I would fish I noticed sheet glass behind me. Glad you stuck it out and got one. She's a beauty.

Nice job - saw you hooked up - you looked real happy as you paddled by with it in your lap! Nothing but black madness for me.

I am still glowing from that catch. I was with out a kayak for a year and a half.
That was my fourth trip in my new kayak. I was out of work for a while and sold off most my fishing stuff to pay bills. No one wanted to buy my old jigmaster. Its my lucky reel and its still landing fish.
I didn't have a game clip so I had to pin the fish in my lap with my gaff. I looked like an ax murder walking to the parking lot to get my car all covered in blood, even down to the maniacal grin on my face.
