CUDA 300 AND LOWRANCE 68C TRANSDUCER???

Currently have a Cuda 300 setup with the transducer already rigged, but I want to upgrade to the lowrance 68c(color screen is alot more stimulating)....the transducer on the lowrance looks a lil bigger and heavier but I look at the specs from the two it looks the same? Would there be any downfalls from using the cuda 300 transducer? I plugged it in and works but just wondering if the lowrance be any better in performance or would it perform just the same.

the bigger transducer is the saltwater version, better in deeper water. They are interchangeable. I am using the smaller one on my 67c, yet to try the saltwater version. Manufacturer claims to 600 feet for the smaller and 800 feet for the bigger, this equates to more detail fishing at 100 feet.
