Butterfly BWE Madness..
thought id share with u all about these butterfly type of jigs on sale @ The Port Of San Diego's Day At The Docks throu Jimmy @ CAIVO .
They are superior to shimanos for several reasons. Jimmys have a glow on the belly applied as the base. Heavier & larger overall surface area. Asymmetrical spooned out recessed design. Holographic finish & Cheaper by far....... For those of us not in the know, what is the deal about butterfly jigs? What are they best for? How are they fished?

unfortunately my trusty yoyos cant get down fast enough.. it flutters too much to hit the mark in time.. twozies & threezies stacked traveling mack-ten moveeeee!!!!!.... the butterfly shape is more of a teardrop shaped and more hydrodynamic on drop..bullet fast... aka "on target..on time.."

Very instructive videos. The Shimano guys made this sound fairly complicated with lots of choices of sizes and colors of the jigs plus a bunch of different hooks, rings, leaders, etc. What works here?
For a first timer, what size jigs and hooks would you recommend? Do you try to "match the hatch" as we often do with other lures or are there some standard setups that just work most of the time? Would you use the same jigs if targeting fish in the kelp versus dropping down on the marks in deeper water. This system sound really cool. I am looking forward to giving it a try. Bob |
