Nice Fish
This fish was barely hooked. I flicked the hook off with my index finger. The violent head shaking probably did it; the head shaking felt like the fish was bouncing from a trampoline. I might have farmed this one had I spent a few second more at the gaff or in the kelp. One of the many things I like about the Hobie is that it allows me to maneuver around the kelp while keeping the pressure on the fish. In the end, this 51 lb. fish cooperated very nicely. What a nice, unselfish fish.
Thanks for taking the time for the photo shoot, Mr. guide-tographer. You almost missed seeing your client hook up a toad. |

Great fish, you are a very happy camper!
You gave a lot of "info" away, now I know that you were: in the water near kelp used a gaff and used fishing hooks.... Someday I will put it all together! Congratulations! |

Jay wasn't born with the luck of the Irish, but any fish he hooks---he lands! That's a skill many will never possess .
A beautiful specimen, indeed. She looks like perfectly cured Sardine---only BIGGER!
