Fish Finder

I'm looking into buying a fish finder for my kayak this week. I'm looking for something around $200. I will be using it for both lakes and hopefully one day for La Jolla. So any recomendations will appreciated.

I just bought the Eagle Cuda 350 (ff & gps), took it for a test drive last week and it worked really well. I bought it while it was on sale but I believe that even at regular price you can get it for under $200 tax included

I usually hate taking business from local shops, but BPS has the Cuda 350 for $169 right now. Unless the local guys are willing to match that I'd go there.

I called the Bass Pro and they do have the Cuda 350 for $169 and the guy told me about a Garmin Echo 150 for $100. And somebody else is selling me a Lowrance x50DS for $100. Don't know much about FF so if any body can help me out on this one will be appreciated.

With a $200 budget, the Cuda 350/GPS is the way to go. Split screen display of the FF and map, mark waypoints, route tracking so you can reproduce a productive drift.

Have had mine (250/GPS) over 3 yrs now, paid over $270 tax+shipping, now it's worth 10 times over. Over a 100 waypoints stored on it. Draws very little current. I run it off a 12V 5A battery and can get 5, 6hr outings before a recharge is needed.

The Lowrance X50 DS is a very good unit for $100. Simple to install and use... http://www.bigwatersedge.com/bwevb/s...27&postcount=5
