Easy launch right before daybreak. Scratched out some bait at the pier. Towards the canyon, north of the hotel, there were lots of sardines on the surface. Saw the rod with my fly-lined greenback make an unusual twitch. Put in free spool and waited, waited, waited, waited... Finally put it in gear, felt the weight, reeled up tight, set the hook and pulled the bait. Came back all tattered, looking like another day of no WSB. :x Fished the area for a while longer for nothing. Went out to my ling cod spot and picked up a sand bass and a pair of small rockfish. Headed inside to try for some calicos, but failed miserably. Sun came out, wind picked up, and had an easy landing around noon. Seemed like there wasn't much current out there.
