The Ranch has lots of nice pets
The last time I went to the Kearny Mesa Ranch to get some fresh squid my son convinced me to pick-out some live crawdads from the new aquarium right above the squid. How could I say no with our pond empty and those cute critters. We brought home a half dozen and my wife was not happy. We had crawdads eccape to our bedrooms, my den and right next to the front door one morning one was starring up at me. A couple died and my wife convinced me to get rid of the remaining as she did some research and found-out they do not get ago with goldfish.
As I wanted to set a good example for my kids I took my son to Tecalote Canyon to release the survivors. We ended up walking over a mile to get past the fenced flood control channel to make a proper release. Maybe, next time well get some catfish. |

I would bet that WSB would eat them. There's not too much difference between them and a red crab.
I'm going to try it this week.
