You'll never know when its your time!

Went out on Friday around 11am, La Jolla shores. Fog was still pretty thick, no clear sun yet. Figured I would drop a greenback deep off the kelp since the visibility was poor anyways. Five minutes later get slammed by what feels like a shark. Takes me for a nice 5 min run, 15 min later wrestle this little fella back into the yak, no pedals by the way. Almost got me in the kelp but I wrestled him up just before he got his way.
Amazing day, ended with Kurt hooking me up with a fresh Yellowtail Ale on the shore. Had to represent us yakers and weigh this bad boy in at 27.4lb for the Yellowtail Derby, looks like it took the cake! Props to Kurt as well for landing a 22.2lb Tail to take 3rd in the tournament. Hope to see more of us yakers in the Derby Next year! Cheers!

Modesty is refreshing

Congrats Chuck, Your casual demeanor at the landing was quite interesting and I enjoyed the oppurtunity to speak with you and your nice lady yesterday. Thanks for sharing your bounty and we definately should get together for an Islands run to use the bait coupons. Your hall must have approached a grand, great job.

Thanks again, Kurt
