Slow Monday morning
Launched at 4:00AM, made bait at the pier.
Paddled to and fro, bait hi and lo, but nobody was home. Didn't even see the big bait balls that were everywhere last week. No real current to speak of either. We drifted the last hour and yo-yo'd, while soaking a bait deep. Julie did manage a short ling, the highlight of the day. Landed around 11:00AM. Maybe it's become an evening affair.

Saw you two out there coming in from the outside a bit. Figured you both had limits and were headed in. :P
Same story from my yacht. Nary a raked bait. Did see some infant cuda pushing bait up over the canyon around 0700 and a spectacular porpoise show around 1100. Reminded me of the East Cape black porpoise going aerial. They were really getting airborne. Going to hit it again early manana~. |
