ambassadeur c4 or cardiff?
Looking for a decent round baitcast for 14lbs test for halibut/ bay sharks, mainly using live bait. Can't decide on the shimano cardiff or the c4. Was hoping someone could give me some input on which they like better

i would go with the Abu model of like make with the baitclicker on it... that's a nice feature to have. plus the level wind aspect is a good plus too.
i have a cardiff model... it's a very nice caster. |

abu all the way. I have a C3 and a cardiff. abu is more solid and reliable. but, on both the drags suck big time. get the carbon fiber drags for the abu and make sure to grease them with cal's grease. amazing difference.
upgraded the drags on my dad's c4 and few weeks back my 8 y/o hooked up on a big bat ray off the channel islands. drags screamed but were smooth, and we were able to get thing to boat for him to see before we popped it off. it's $10 upgrade and will turn an $90 reel into a $200 reel. seriously. I use my old C3 all the time now. love it. |
