what lakes to fish in el cajon area
i am headed to el cajon for work next week.going to take yak with me to do some after work fishing.want to fish bass-catfish or just about anything i just want to wet a line.i am not to fimaliar with the area but heard theres a few lakes near by.any imput would be appreciated.

murray, el cap, and dip down to lower otay. Frogs dont work to bad this time of year over in lower otay. Murray is pretty slow but I have had a lot of success with a neon blue vein/or choco blue vein in 10" straight tail along the bottom. Dont know much about el cap.

Not meaning to steer you away from Big Water, but there are other forums that really concentrate on inland lake fishing, with a wealth of information on each lake to include reports. Try a google search on sdfish.

Otay Mesa lake would be the place ,there are a couple of coves for a sure bet on bass,and a stand of submerged trees for crappie . You can have 30+ bass days on that water .Have fun and good luck

Try the san diego river in santee Ive seen some big bass in the ponds around there. Make sure you bring your wheels tho youll have to drag your yak a little ways

lower otay . Its a great place to fish. Plus I dont know if upper is even open for fishing right now.
