I launch at Cardiff state beach, and then work the kelp up to Swami's. Outside edge of the kelp for big game, in the kelp for bass and along the beach for flatties.
When the MLPA kicks in, this whole area will be off limits to line fishing so enjoy it while you can.

Hey Pete,

I have been meaning to hit Cardiff. Maybe even this weekend if the surf is manageable. Got pounded last launch attempt.

Have you been out recently? If so, please post a report.

Hi Bob,
Well I have been out lately but it was in New Zealand chasing Kingfish (aka Yellowtail). I just got back so I expect to be on the water next week as soon as I shake off this head cold.
Launching/landing in North county is not for the faint of heart. You really have to pick your days and swell timing. There is a gap just behind the restaurants and I always shoot for that slot.
