April 9th in Oceanside
After a great day of bass fishing for dinner, I decided to head home for the day. Why is it, that when we are finished, we leave the fish finder on? Because you might go over a school of bait. And then you might turn around and throw an MC swimmie into the mix and you might hook up to a nice 30 lb. (just a guess) Thresher shark! I was able to follow him with my Hobie Mirage Drive to help keep the line pressure to a minimum. I don't think I could have landed him otherwise. This Thresher was caught on 12 lb. Halo on a Curado 200. What a thrill and what a day! Bob, you want some?

Looks like you're eating well, Wayne.
And a cute little puppy you got there...fresh out of the womb .

30#? Maybe 5# of quality cuts? Sorry but your last picture should have been that baby's tail swimming away...just saying.

thresher
OK. Now I feel like crap. Message received. This is the first time I have ever seen a live thresher shark and he looked huge to me in the water. Now I know better. Please don't pile on.
