South Bay the 26th
Launched out of "J" Street today. I have been taking my daughter's boyfriend out the last few weeks breaking him in slowly. He is from Utah and is used to fishing for trout. He has been catching quite the variety. Today he caught several spotted bass, baracuda, corvina, and a croaker, all on plastics. He is really stoked. He has never caught this many fish before in his life. The big surprise for me today was hooking into a big ole bat ray which towed me around like a yellowtail would on 8 lb. test. It was a lot of fun! Soon I will be taking him (Dirk) out to the kelp beds and I can't wait to see him catch his first yellow. He will be soooooo surprised.
Hope to see everybody out there soon. Good Luck. Jim |

alive and well
Glad to see another "old timer" is still around. We missed you (A real job sure puts a damper on fishing during the week)!
Next time its greetings on the water! Avery |
