Good for bait?
I was making bait and hooked something nice that was pulling drag on my freshwater/spinning rod. I thought it was a fat mack so I hooked him on and trolled it. After a long tow I pulled him in and realized it was a bonito. Apparently I can't see well in the morning. So are bonito good for bait (besides bug bait)?

Bonito are great bait.
if you get one that is around 1-2lbs those are the best bait for threshers! |

About 6 years ago my pops and I were fishing for threshers off of Cardiff using live bonita for bait. A 15lb. yellowtail ate ( or should I say attempted to eat) a 15 incher... couldn't believe it! Hungry little bugger!
