Sweet exotic! I saw on Bloody Decks someone caught a huge striped bass from the beach in North County. Maybe this cold water is good for something. Were there visible signs of the fish or were you just casting blind? Do they fight good? Should I wear black socks with shorts to catch one? :P Congrats!

Damn Mark - nice striper!!! Apparently, they’ve been around. One of my friends caught a lunker off the beach in NCSD last week (my friend is well over 6' - you do the math):

Kurt as you can see black socks are a must. Mars looks like mama didn't make the trip north. I heard of that fish, that's what made me go look.
Chris look at the photo...really good. |

It must be the shorts. Both of the striper catchers are wearing the same shorts.

Nice catch Mark.
All Clay and I seem to catch are BSP...still taste good though. Hmmm...recognize the coloring of the fish trap.
