LJ 2/20 am
Got out around 6:00am into a cold offshore breeze. Bait was scratchy, mostly spanish. Looked vaguely fishy around 8:00, but ended up just being chovies popping. Drifted around with Adi, norcal Chuck, and Chris hoping for something to give but it never did.
Birds went apeshit over the canyon as we came in, but looked like dogs and dolphins. Turned into a beautiful morning, but LJ remains very lifeless. Couple of sandies and a big ass sculpin were my high(low)lights. If only those WCB wimps weren't afraid of my bycatch. :P |

It was very nice out there.
Good times, too bad no lamb. I hear it's going off tomorrow...

Same story for me. Had the GF and her friend out for a late morning session. When I had a chance to yo yo in between un-snagging, un-tangling and re-rigging the girls it seemed pretty dead. Saw those birds, that's a confirmed dolphin/sea dog extravaganza.

My son and I were out today as well, our first trip to La Jolla so it was pretty cool. Had our brush with greatness when madscientist gave us a depth reading (&^#%^ busted ff!!!). Bait went crazy in the kelp, practically chasing the sabiki into our kayaks, but nothing interested in them.
