la jolla 6-25
Paddled out at 0530 to flat conditions with a light breeze and water temp reading 68 0n FF. Plenty of bait in the water and had a couple nice bites on the trolled Mackeral and caught and released two nice size barracudas...no YT or WSB...lot of people on the water (kayaks, private and party boats).....nice to get out before the three day work weekend

headed out today at 330pm to see if I was truly cursed now. bait all over was an understatement. On my way in I tried a new spot and hit the calico and sandy jackpot. Released over 10+ but kept just one for dinner because it got the benz so bad its bladder blew out its mouth from the deep depth retrieve. mandatory tacos. I had never tried them before. Do checkers taste different? saw a bunch of guys headed out to the edge of canyon around 9-930pm at landing. Reports of barracuda all around. one good wsb gotten early morning.

i shot three yellows off the outside kelp Wednesday afternoon when the current started rippin'. Smaller models, 10-15 #. Also saw a pair of 30# whites. Have faith, whether or not the fish are biting, there are DEFINITELY fish in La Jolla right now...
