MLPA Fundraiser Prizes!
As of this morning we have over 50 confirmed participants signed up for the MLPA Fundraiser Fishing Tournament. Some of you have signed up because you know the importance of the effort to achieve a reasonable MLPA result. Others just want to take advantage of this opportunity to fish competitively with some of the best kayak fishers, (and Spearos), in the country. Whatever your reason, we thank you for your support.
To the rest of you who have not yet signed up, I will now appeal to one of mankind's most powerful motivational forces... greed. Thanks to the generosity of many corporate and individual donors, we have prizes...terrific prizes. Here is just a partial list of what will be up for grabs in the raffle and silent auction: Kayaks, (one so far, others may be on the way) Islander Mothership trip Kidkbike Rods & Reels line Lures Paddles Sunglasses PFD's In addition to great stuff you can win in the raffle or bid on at the auction we have also received some very generous donations to cover the event permits, food and drinks. New donations are showing up every day. This event is going to be a really big deal. It will talked about for years to come. You will be sorry if you miss out on the fun. More importantly, this important cause desperately needs your support. So are you with us? If so, please click here to sign up. http://www.diamond-safety.com/signup-form.htm If you have questions, please contact me or Paul. Bob 760-942-2914 Paul 858-254-3600 |

No one should need extra incentive to sign up for this, but there's some nice prizes up for grabs.

The prize donations continue to roll in. Among the latest are a bunch of hoop nets, (courtesy of one of our favorite Spearos who says it is more fun to catch lobster by hand, up close and personal). The newest North County tackle shop just kicked in a brand new Shimano Curado reel. Several of our regional lure manufacturers have loaded us up with great items. The list goes on and on.
As of 4:00 today, we have 64 confirmed participants. The interesting thing is that nearly half of them are from LA and OC. Some of our supporters will be driving in from as far away as Ventura. This begs the question, where are the rest of the locals? Come on folks, we need maximum participation at this event. Our goal is to have at least 100 kayaks on the water. This is all about keeping La Jolla open to recreational fishing. You need to be there and bring some friends.
