DP again-a double 'but-load
Tried Dana Point again today. Same routine as Tuesday; sunrise to sunset, plugs-plastics-sardines up and down Doheny, with lots of shorts to show for our efforts. Went back into the harbor around noon for fresh 'dines and Aaron found this guy liked 'em:
It weighed 11lbs. Not to be completely outdone, Julie found another customer: This one checked in at 9lbs. Here's our double on the beach at day's end: Now, after less than 2 years of kayak fishing, Aaron has completed the YT-WSB-Halibut slam, and Julie is a WSB away from doing the same. Gotta love this sport!

Nice! I have talked to my wife about entering the WCW, she is undecided. Would love to see the ladies battle
Do you drive up there from Spring Valley to fish? I fish there once a year, in March

Sure do
Yeah, Andy, we drive from Spring Valley, loading both of our kayaks on one truck. It usually takes us an hour to make the trip, so it's not all that bad. Easy drive home when you got something to show for it, too.
Do you usually enter the tournament in March? For big fish or bass? Our guess would be for "big fish"

Nice fish! We visited friends in San Marcos and ate at the Fish House Vera Cruz tonight. My wife and I had yellowtail, my 15yr old had dorado, and my 10yr old had the halibut kids meal. It was all good but the halibut was the best! I want to catch a halibut!

A&J,
Nice fish. I've wanted to fish Dana for sometime now. How was the traffic on the water? Thanks -Dennis |

Nice fish :!: You got me motivated to fix my bait tank and hit DP this afternoon after the kids soccer. Normally, after reffing a couple matches I hit the couch   Congrats again on the tasty fish and points!

Traffic on the water was slight, probably due to it being a weekday. Afternoon wind made it difficult to maintain good fishing position, kicking up to 20+ knots. The paddle back in was brutal.

Ya I plan to fish the tourney in March. Good time and I actually have a little more halibut confidence
