Lobster opener 09/26/2025
I had a successful trip and good time during the lobster season opener. While waiting for the 6:30 PM starting time, a local restaurant employee generously and for free gave me a lot of bait to use. 1 - The head of a very large yellowtail and bucket full of discarded meat. ![]() I cut the head in half and zip-tied them to each net. Too big to stuff them in the bait box. Besides, I had a lot of meat to put in the bait boxes. I also used squid in two smaller bait boxes. 2 ? It was great to pull the net and see all the bugs in it. ![]() ![]() 3 ? I kept five legal lobsters and released (without counting) perhaps 30 plus short ones. ![]() Hope you had a successful trip, if you went out. |

Congrats
Congrats Hashim
![]() I think this is the best Opener you've ever posted. Good Job I'm kinda surprised the Sea Lions didn't tear the net apart to get to the YT head.

Thanks Jim,
Did not see many sea lions. Heard maybe one. Part of the head in one net was gone, but the second one untouched. One year, I was done by 8:30 PM. Not sure if I posted it. |
