North County Fri Morning sleigh ride

After yesterday's yellowtail, I had the itch to look further offshore for something else. Launched in Leucadia and headed out. 2 miles into my journey, my flyline mack starts singing. Grabbed my rod, put it in gear and 35 minutes later got this guy in (tailhooked)

Nice one Nate. Were you able to pedal back in with that beast, or did you have to break out the paddle?

Good job Nate!

That's some hefty Dorado bi-catch. I hope it didn't hit the 15lb fllouro set-up. On a side note, I saw a 10lb Dorado that was landed today, but that's not my story to tell. For those with offshore kayak ambitions, the cooler green water moved in, cutting the vis in half for the 5 mile zone of recent days. It's still possible, but with weekend pb's, and conditions falling apart, it's going to take a good dose of luck.
