Newport Harbor Spots
Had the day off today and the wind forecast did not look good, so decided to hit the harbor. Its been a while since I caught a Spotty. I usually fish with plastic grubs and swim baits but decided to try and use a 15gm jig at the docks. That did the trick as the bass were eager to hit. There was a good tidal flow as well so that may have been a big part of it.

A good way to spend the afternoon -- nice-looking spotted bay bass.

Can’t go wrong spending time in the harbor when the ocean’s not looking too good. Even better when the Spotties are cooperating.
Newport has been looking good lately. |
