Rock Crabs during the day (AM)??
Was wondering if setting hoop nets during day (mostly the morning) will catch Rock crabs? Have a friend who wants to go rockfishing(AM) and catch crabs in the evening but it would be nice if we can do both at the same time.

Many years ago as a kid we would catch rock and spider crabs off the Redondo Horseshoe pier during the day using a net on a bicycle frame. Diehard fishing has a video where he does what you are proposing.

Yes, you can catch rock crabs during day.
RIP Tony has a video of that. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=443I3_E-sbg Just make sure you don't keep any by-catch fish or lobster. Last edited by Mahigeer; 04-12-2022 at 01:00 PM. |
