La Jolla 9-17,21 & 23-2021 on the SOLO SKIFF
I went out to La Jolla like I do weekly and with the changing weather conditions and worse weather ahead I ended up going out on Friday, Sept. 17th, Tuesday the 21st and Thursday the 23rd. The water conditions allowed me to go offshore and search for larger Pelagic's and cover some areas that I had not gone before. The Tuna and other Pelagic's have been hard to get even when they can be found and so has the bait. Hey, that's fishing! Tight Lines!

Thanks John. The weather has had an affect on the water temps. Friday the 17th I went further West and North and the water temp was going up the further West you went, from 66 degrees at the point. Metered up to 71 degrees when all of a sudden the temp started fluctuating and going down. I was getting over the edge of the canyon near the La Jolla Canyon Weather Buoy, it read as low as 59. Went South again and it got warmer. Had to be mixing could upswell. Four days later the point is 2 degrees colder and it was warmer outside and more bait. Two days later (Thursday) the water was as high as 70 degrees off the point in 200'-300'. Fishing should stabilize soon. It still beats, SO MUCH, sitting at home on the couch.
