Late post, sorry...
Took a couple, novices to ocean fishing, out of Oceanside. Launched in the harbor, water was around 72 degrees and clean. Bait was good but died on the way out due to the warm water. Headed out to the #2 artificial reefs, started out on the deeper ones. First stop and the young lady caught a 16" calico, then a Sand Bass. Next reef, she got 3 undersized Calicos. This went on for the first four reefs, she was slayin them. Her BF had his head in the clouds, wouldn't listen to instructions and didn't catch anything. Started getting choppy so we headed in to the shallow reefs hoping to get the guy into some fish. Finally, he caught some fish, a couple of Calicos and a keeper sheepshead. The gal was still knocking them dead, she caught on real quick as to how to catch the fish, was nice to see. The trip ended up back at the harbor around 4pm, the couple had scored four keepers.
