Newport 6-9
Now that my break is over it was time to hit Newport to see what’s up before the PN Tournament in 2 weeks. Met Jeremy from Paddle Power at G Street and launched at 7:00 am. The tide was headed out so we rode it to where the channel narrows past the Coast Guard Station then up to Bay Island and back. It felt good to be back in my Prowler Trident after 2 months. We found bass all over the Harbor and I caught 2 halibut one about 3 inches bigger than the Reebs Razorback and the other was legal though as I tried to get the camera out and turned it sawed through the line. My biggest fish of the day came on a Reebs Kelp Assassin with a Razorback pined on it.
Didn't really count the fish though if it were tournament day I would have been able to weight in my first limit. Jeremy with on of his many fish Got off the water before 2 had a great time. Would be nice to weight some fish on tournament day
