NP harbor 10-1-2019
Started the day at 6 AM in the CG parking lot putting my boat together.
Fist fish a 20 inch halibut that went nuts just as I got it to the boat and popped off. 2nd fish a Sargo. My first double of the day and Only. Biggest if the day landed in the boat. Tim doing what Tim does! The bite stopped at 8:30, I landed 6 nice fish by then. A nice day to get out on the water. Water temp 68.5 deg. Mark F. |

Nice. One thing great about Newport is that there are opportunities to catch fish within minutes of launching. And, I'm not just referring to where you launched. The whole bay has potential. I launched from Lower Castaways and busted off a good one within shouting distance of the launch and landed another as well.
Do you ever fly fish from shore for spotties?

If I fly fish it is in the bays (Kayaking) or walking the surf.
