Finally, a nice yellowtail!
I had a good time on the water last Sunday, My friend and I launched from La Jolla (Ensenada, Mexico) towards La Bufadora, we pedaled 6 miles to "los islotes" right in front of Todo Santos island, I have started with some calico action as a warming up, then I hooked something good, but I lost it (again) and finally her majestic appeared, a nice yellowtail, after that my friend also hooked one.
Here the video, hope you enjoy it, its a little bit long, sorry for that. cheers!

Congrats on the kayak Yellows, Carlos. Nice size Yellows, look about 25 lb . Look like some nice fishing areas you're enjoying. Thanks for sharing. Me encanta la peleada con los grandes y son tan sabrosos.

Dude, nice fish. The calicos look like a lot of fun, but that yellow looked like it was a staunch fight on that gear. What size reel were you using?

it is an old Lexa 300 with 40lb braid and 40lbs fluoro, the rod is an really old Okuma Baidarka. It was super fun, and that guy pulled a lot.. i am ready for the next one cheers!

Just one tip, try keeping the the rod pointing toward the front of the kayak more. It gives you better leverage and will turn the kayak toward the fish when they make those runs to the side. Those bigger Yellows can almost roll you if you are not ready when they pull hard and the rod is to your side. Tight Lines.
