Finally Out on SD Bay
Finally out on SD Bay with Fishinmike. We got out on the water about 6:45 just as the sun was rising. Water was cold and calm and there was no breeze. We launched from Kellogg which had a lot more concrete debris then I last remember. Not good for the yaks when the water is up. First catch on the troll was an ugly lizard fish. Went out to the lower range marker and my lures kept pulling up crap. In Fishinmike’s words, “like someone sprayed Roundup” and we were pulling up all the Dead Sea grass. 1/4 jig pulled up too much crap so switched to a 1/8 and a root beer colored grub. Success.
After 3.5 hours of fishing(daughter wanted me to come home so she could practice her pitching) Fishinmike: 3 spotties and 2 lizzies Bubbacee: 5 spotties and 2 Lizzie’s. 2 spotties longer than a Subway sandwich. |
