Dana point 12/7/18

Launched at 9:30. Went out to barbers point. I was hoping to drift for some halibut but only got one bite. Pulled up a short calico and a Mack. Headed back in because of the muddy water and high winds. I’m just getting into the kayak part of the sport so I do not have a fish finder so I’m kind of fishing in the dark ha ha. Asking my wife to get me one for Christmas. This is my first report and I plan to make one every time I go out. Next time hopefully I have some picks for you all!

Thanks for the report. Definitely get a FF. I'd go for a 5" if you can convince your wife. My 49yr old eyes don't like the 4". Where do you launch from? I like the ramp, but it is costly. Hit me up in a pm if you need some areas to try.

I appreciate it but I think she has already purchased it.

Yes the 5” is what I asked for. The Raymarine dragonfly. I also launch from the ramp. Gets me out to the fish faster Lol. It would be nice to have someone to paddle out with. I will post the day before I go out next time!

Sounds good. Hopefully I will have transportation that will haul a kayak soon.

I see you are out of Lake Forest. I am out of Laguna Woods. Do you fish often and looking to buddy up? I am retired and have lots of time.
